> NI² Center for Infrastructure Expertise

The NI² Center for Infrastructure Expertise is a not-for-profit applied research group that is currently funded under a grant from the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST). The mission of the Center is to help ensure that our nation’s built critical infrastructures and key resources can meet the security threats of the 21^st century. The Center works in partnership with federal state, and local government agencies, as well as private industry and non-government organizations, to develop and apply best practices, creative ideas, and cost-efficient solutions to protect our nation’s built critical infrastructure from terrorist attacks and other catastrophic events. To accomplish this, the Center focuses on testing and implementing practical applications rather than theoretical models.
